How to cut and use USA Matte Vinyl – Surfaces

• Insert the vinyl into the plotter machine such as cricut or cameo and adjust the settings at force 40, speed 12 or 13
• After you’re done cutting the design, apply the transfer tape (application) to transfer the cut design from the vinyl to the desired product
• Pass a heat blower or heat press for a few seconds to fix the vinyl on the product
• In the case of printing mugs: After transferring the design from the vinyl to the mug with the transfer tape, the mug is heated with a heat blower, medium settings and high heat for 3 or 5 minutes.

How to print vinyl using laser printer

1. Adjust the printer’s label printing settings so that it’s compatible with vinyl.
2. Print the desired logo or image onto a vinyl sticker.
3. Apply an adhesive protective film over the printed vinyl to keep it safe.
4. Use a cutter plotter to cut around the edges of the logo on the sticker without removing it yet.
5. Place a silicone sheet or foil on the sticker, and then pass it through a thermal laminator set to a temperature between 175 and 180 degrees.
6. Once the laminating process is complete, carefully peel off the logo from the sticker, and your vinyl is now ready to use.

How to print with a sublimation printer on the matte vinyl

1. Put the lamination film on the vinyl and inserting it into the thermal laminator at a temperature of 160 to 70 degrees.
2. Print your photo on thermal sublimation paper such as Global Paper using a Sawgrass or Epson sublimation printer.
3. Place the printed image on the laminated vinyl
4. Place plain white paper over the heatpress to protect it before working
5. Place the printed paper on the vinyl and cover with a silicone sheet then put them on the heatpress with the following settings: Temperature: 200 – Time: 60 to 80 seconds – Piston pressure is medium
6. When finished, remove the sublimation paper to reveal the printed vinyl
7. Paste the printed vinyl on the product, a mug or anything you want to print, and insert it into the press again for 5 to 10 seconds to permanently fix it.

**Important tips while printing vinyl surfaces on a sublimation printer:

• Matte vinyl requires lamination paper such as license and document lamination paper – available in bookstores – with a temperature of 160 to 170 on the laminator.
• Gold, silver, opal and hologram glitter vinyl requires no lamination paper
• After pressing the heatpress to fix the vinyl on plastic or acrylic surfaces such as cards, the plastic may be affected and tilt slightly, so it is possible to place a heavy object on it to return it to its normal straight position.
• To print on mugs, peel off the tip of the sticker and stick this part on the cup, then slowly rotate the cup and spread the sticker at one time to get a perfect paste.
• Thermal vinyl needs to invert the design when cutting
